Grant began his legal career with the firm in 1991 and worked his way up through the ranks to become a partner in 1996.Alongside Mari Meisel he helped steer the firm through the years of boom and bust in the economy and through seismic changes in Family Law whilst at the same time maintaining the firm’s reputation and core values. He took over the reins completely in 2013.

Grant enjoys advocacy and represents his clients throughout proceedings.

He specializes in the law relating to children and adoption and has been a member of the Law Children Panel since 1997. Grant is able to deal with the most difficult of situations and is proud that he frequently asked to deal with the most complex cases that emerge in the region. In the last few years Grant has mainly represented children who are viewed as being at risk or vulnerable in proceedings. In addition he has experience in assisting parents, grandparents, foster carers and adopters in proceedings. He has also on occasions advised and represented local authorities.

Grant regularly receives recommendations from Leading Counsel and the Judiciary

He has been recommended in Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners regularly for the last 15 years. He has been a regular contributor to the media and legal journals. He has been the legal advisor to the script team of a TV show. He has also lectured in family law and provides training to CAFCASS.

Grant is a member of the Law Society Children Panel, is a past chairman of Birmingham Law Society Family Law Committee and West Midlands Resolution and is a member of the Reunite Child Abduction specialist lawyers listing and is a member of the local Family Court business Committee and Public Law children group.
